To order a copy of a police report:

1.    Contact the Records Division at 419-947-4845.  Please have the report number, date and/or  address available; or

2.    Send an email to: reports@morrowcountysheriff.com

Be advised reports will NOT be released until they have been completed by the Deputy AND approved by the Chief Deputy.

The Records Division cannot and will not change or alter any reports.  Please contact the investigating Deputy to have reports changed.  The Records Division has no control over when the reports will be done – you need to speak with the investigating Deputy.

Be advised investigator notes are NOT public record.  Any report that is still under investigation will not be released.  Per Ohio law, all social security numbers will be redacted from reports.

PUBLIC RECORDS POLICY

Effective 2/1/2025:  Public records are available upon request at the Morrow County Sheriff’s Office between the hours of 8:00 am and 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday, with the exception of holidays adopted by the Morrow County Commissioners. Requests can also be submitted via email to reports@morrowcountysheriff.org

There is no limit to the number of public record requests or copies that the Morrow County Sheriff’s Office will make available to a single person.

All responses to record requests, are to be made in compliance with the Ohio Revised Code Section 149.43. This policy is intended to summarize these provisions. Any interpretation of this policy or matters not specifically provided herein shall be in accordance with Ohio Revised Code section 149.43.

Records are to be organized so as to be available promptly and within a reasonable time after allowing for examination and redaction of exempted information. This may include seeking legal assistance.

While it has been established by law that the cost for copies of most public records shall be set at the amount deemed to be the actual cost of making paper copies, the Sheriff’s Office must conform the Ohio statute, which clearly outlines the amount the Sheriff shall charge for copies of recorded documents.

Pursuant to Ohio Revised Code section 317.32, a requester shall be charged $0.10 per page for a copy of any recorded document copied. Pursuant to Ohio Revised Code section 149.43, a requester shall be charged $75.00 per hour of video produced up to $750.00.
